First to perform was Elliot who wowed us with a recital of Chopin on the piano. A warm, gentle and emotionally loaded performance remembered off by heart without the use of Music sheets. Elliot’s final recital will be played on the Grand Piano in the Main Hall, which will be even more expressive and resonant.

The tempo then changed and so did the noise levels when Joe played the drums to a Grade 7 piece from System of a Down. His spirited and loud performance was well received by the audience and a complete contrast to Elliot’s piece! Joe’s technique and control were superb, and he performed with confidence despite confessing afterwards that he was nervous.

Thank you to all the staff and students who came along to support them over lunch. We look forward to our next recital in April, however, owing to the Easter Holidays and subsequent Bank Holiday Mondays, we are changing the day to Tuesdays for the rest of the school year. Our next recital will take place on Tuesday 24th April, closely followed by Tuesday 9th May 2023.
