Identity Poetry House Competition
October celebrated Black History Month and National Poetry Day which raised an opportunity to encourage students to take part in a house competition.
Students from any year group were challenged to write their own poem about identity and decorate it for display. We were delighted by both the quality and quantity of entries and are extremely proud of everyone who took part: the poems were a pleasure to read.
We would like to congratulate Year 7 Sharman student, Emily B, who was awarded first place. Her poem was moving, empathetic and beautifully presented. See her winning entry below. Year 7 Chichester student, Georgina W, came second with her thoughtfully worded and well-presented entry and Year 8 Mallory student, Max B, submitted a creative and emotive poem which was awarded third place.
